    God is good!

Well , here I am in the last semester of my RN training. The time has flown by so fast! I am spending the day in the SSRF with my preceptor. It has been a really good week so far and it's only Tues! Yesterday I prayed that I would get to be in the peds room and guess where I got to be! Thats right, in the peds room! It was so neat to get to care for the little kiddos. A lot of them were there for neurology and urology, which is where my heart is. I even got to take care of several Dr. Meneses patients. (He was my surgeon way back 20+ years ago) It has been so awesome the way God has let me know that he is looking out for me and making my experience personal. He really does care about the little things that we care about. They aren't just insignificant details to Him.

I had a patient a few weeks ago that was autistic and couldn't speak. They had given him a certain kind of anesthesia that can put kids in a state of delirium on a good day, much less with other complications. He was thrashing around on the bed, trying to pull his IV out, banging his body against the railing. I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him and started praying. The minute I started praying I felt his little body relax and he was calm!

I also have had my ob clinicals this past weekend. My aunt was here from PA, one of my friends was here from Kansas City, and the Fall Fest happened as well. So I was dreading the busy-ness-but once again, God knew... I recieved a call around 1130 on Sun am. stating that clinicals were cancelled, but I could make up the day if I wanted. So I had 10 hours more in my day than I had expected! God is good!

Hi everyone. I am now back in the 'real world' and actually looking forward to working, etc. I took my lpn boards on Tuesday. I should find out within the next week or so, but in the meantime, I am just patiently...... WAITING! I feel like a kid at Christmas. I am hoping for some fun opportunities after I have my license.

I have made some other big changes in my life as well. I found a new place to worship God and have been really enjoying developing new relationships and furthuring old relationships. I have been really enjoying Kalona Christian Fellowship the past three Sundays. I was a little bit unsure where God was calling me. The second Sunday I attended the very first shared was my favorite out of all the thousands of verses in the Bible! The message was on Hebrews 10:24-the verse that talks about spurring eachother on to love and good works. That's really what God has been teaching me the last while. Relationships are why God sent his Son Jesus to die for us, not so we could follow a bunch of laws, etc. Laws were put in place by God for a reason, but when Jesus came, he gave us a 'new law'-Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and then love your neighbor as you do yourself. That covers all the previous laws, cuz you wouldn't lie to yourself, steal from yourself, etc. So he calls us to relationships with Him first and then with our fellow man. God has just been teaching me more about relationships with him and with other people and has been my divine romance. A friend and I were spending the evening together and he said that he wonders what a "date with God would be like" The Friday before God had showed me. I have wanted to go to a Newsboys concert since I was 13 (a few years ago-hehe) I didn't have a ticket, and had looked online. The ticket that I wanted was $42! I found a ride the night before and the people I was riding with all had tickets together. I got there and the lady told me she had a seat on the main floor, the 14th row. It was the exact ticket I had seen online for $29.75! So I sat by myself and met some new friends. The first two groups were good, but not my favorite, so while Kutless was playing some heavier songs I decided to go visit the little girls' room, so I wouldn't miss any of the Newsboys. The exit to the ladies' room was directly by the stage, and Kutless was playing some of my favorite worship songs, so I stood by the stage and I had a wonderful time worshipping God the rest of the night. I got to see a man give his life to God! It really was a date with God! God's been doing  other amazing things in my life, but you'll just have to ask me next time you talk to me. Have a blessed day!

    Whew!!!

That is a big sigh of relief!!! I just did really well on my final and am quite pleased with myself and all that I've learned over the semester. I can't take all the credit of course-I had lots of prayers backing me up from friends and family. PTL it's finally over! I do have two days of clinicals left, but find that more interesting and exciting than sitting in class. I enjoy getting out there and putting what I've learned to practice. Guess you can't have one without the other though, huh?! Well have a great day and if you can't do that at least enjoy the bad one. (Hehe! That's not an original Heatherism in case you're wondering. It's from the wall of Kalona's own Golden Delight Bakery)

    Blessed and stressed

Wow, I am so glad God never gives up on us. Even though we treat him worse than our own friends He's right there welcoming us back with open arms. He is the greatest friend ever. The songs and verses that are really ministering right now are all talking about God raising us up on wings like eagles, running without growing weary, walking and not fainting. For those of you who I haven't been able to communicate with personally, I am going to school full time right now. Working every other Sat night shift. I love being busy thank God, but even I am getting a little weary of the schedule Maybe cuz its mostly work and little play. I am really thankful for friends to go hang out with and a supportive family. Luv ya little sis, thanks for hanging out with me. My mother bought some massages for me, so that's gonna be great also! I am so blessed! Luv ya all!

    MeRrY CHRISTmas!! finally!

well, christmas is finally almost here! You would think an almost 25-year old would have some patience, but here I am, the first one up, impatiently waiting for everyone to get up. I am not excited for the same reason as I used to be, though. I have dad's name this year, (By the time  he reads this, he will already know that) and can't wait to see his face. hehe! I may tell you later why just in case he does read this. I have been thinking about the best gift ever. I know my dad and family fairly well, and have known most of them for around 25 years. When I get them gifts, I am pretty sure they will like them, but God sent a gift that He knew not everyone would want and receive that cost Him everything. He didn't wrap Him with a fancy bow and paper and scotch tape. He wrapped Him in skin and swaddling clothes, and then sent him to a humble little stable so we could communicate with Him and someday see Him in Heaven. What a great gift!

On a similar note, I went to see the Nativity with some friends. I would recommend it very highly!!!! It was the most beautiful Biblical movie I have  ever  seen!

    MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
