Well , here I am in the last semester of my RN training. The time has flown by so fast! I am spending the day in the SSRF with my preceptor. It has been a really good week so far and it's only Tues! Yesterday I prayed that I would get to be in the peds room and guess where I got to be! Thats right, in the peds room! It was so neat to get to care for the little kiddos. A lot of them were there for neurology and urology, which is where my heart is. I even got to take care of several Dr. Meneses patients. (He was my surgeon way back 20+ years ago) It has been so awesome the way God has let me know that he is looking out for me and making my experience personal. He really does care about the little things that we care about. They aren't just insignificant details to Him.
I had a patient a few weeks ago that was autistic and couldn't speak. They had given him a certain kind of anesthesia that can put kids in a state of delirium on a good day, much less with other complications. He was thrashing around on the bed, trying to pull his IV out, banging his body against the railing. I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him and started praying. The minute I started praying I felt his little body relax and he was calm!
I also have had my ob clinicals this past weekend. My aunt was here from PA, one of my friends was here from Kansas City, and the Fall Fest happened as well. So I was dreading the busy-ness-but once again, God knew... I recieved a call around 1130 on Sun am. stating that clinicals were cancelled, but I could make up the day if I wanted. So I had 10 hours more in my day than I had expected! God is good!
